In 2009 I discovered the original wallpapers were still intact in several rooms in my house, so I set about uncovering them. The building dates from 1820 and it felt fulfilling to see these rooms in their original condition.
Just as I embarked on my Afrofuturism project the actress Jodie Turner Smith and I worked on these pictures together before doing a pivitol session for the book.
