Lloyd Johnson outside his retrospective at Chelsea Space January 25th 2012
At the age of Sixteen Keith Moon had saved enough money to buy himself a gold suit from one of the rock outfitters centred in Soho. It was supposedly to wear onstage but Keith's performance was perennial so he had no need to take it off. He masterminded devious pranks using the reflective material to his advantage.
Lloyd Johnson's clothes and the importance they had for the sea change of youth who followed the template Keith had created can only be stated as fact.
Attending Lloyd's exhibition bought the memory's flooding back. Above is a picture from 1985. I was a DJ in a club called 'Industry'. Practically everyone who came to the club was wearing a piece (jacket, shirt, etc...) from 'La Rocka'.
Here are the details of the Exhibition which includes an excellent radio interview.
